"...cannot link old 32-bit object with -n32 link"

During compiling, the final stages of building httpsd returns:

FATAL 112: cannot link old 32-bit object with-n32link:../../SSLeay-0.9.0b/libssl.a(ssl_lib.o).
*** Error code 2 (bu21)


This echo's slightly Al Smith's email of 30/06/98, but I can't seem to sort this problem out.

Suggestions appreciated.


apache_1.3.0+ssl_1.18
Apache 1.3.0
SSLeay-0.9.0b
using cc on Irix 6.2
