Re: [apache-ssl] Can I create my own SSL Certificate?

What you have to do is register your root certificate in the browser.
Most browsers come pre-configured with verisign's and other certificates
from major players. If the browser does not have the root certificate,
it will create a splash screen. That's the whole point of PKI. Users who
did not accept your root certificate as trusted will get a splash
screen. Not that it's a problem, since the communication will be secure.

Well, I know that's not exactly what you want, but I doubt you can make
your certificate be trusted unless you register it in the browser. This
is what is done in intranets (just make sure that every browser in the
intranet trusts your root certificate).
